About Motherwort Tincture: This beloved mint family herb embodies beauty and strength, spirit, and ease. The fuzzy pink flowers grow in circles around the stem, and as the plant matures, it develops little prickers. Motherwort is often partnered or categorized with Rose because they both share a heart-based tenderness cared for by a strengthening boundary in the form of a prick or a thorn. Many aspects of the feminine nature find support, peace, and power with Motherwort. This plant soothes tension and overwhelm, gently strengthens the reproductive/regenerative system of the body, and helps soothe stress related to menstruation, post-partum, and menopause.

Motherwort was given the botanical name, Leonurus cardiaca, which roughly translates to "Lion Heart". This strong name evokes feelings of courage, protection, confidence, and loyalty. Garden Notes: Motherwort grows prolifically in our Biodynamic^® gardens, on the edges of our beautiful Rose garden. When in bloom, the Rose and Motherwort flowers hum with honeybees and bumblebees. It is truly a heart-centering experience to witness the bees amongst these herbs! We hand-harvest the flowering tops from our gardens in July and tincture them fresh in organic alcohol.
